The Basics
Enzyme-Aid is a nutritional drink created to keep you fit and your body performing at its best.
Definitions:
- Enzyme: A protein formed by the body that acts as a catalyst to cause a certain desired reaction.
- Catalyst: A substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction
- An active site: A region on an enzyme that binds to a protein or other substance during a reaction.
There are three different types of enzymes that are essential to any digestion process.
1. Metabolic Enzymes- These enzymes are in charge of keeping up with your blood production and the health of vital organs. They use carbohydrate, protein, and healthy fat to repair and maintain cells or tissue.
2. Digestive Enzymes- Digestive enzymes are just what they seem; enzymes that help carry along the digestive process. They are responsible for helping the body absorb and transport necessary nutrients into the blood stream.
3. Food Enzymes- Now these are not made in the body but are found in live, raw fruits and vegetables. They are the most important type of enzyme because they are needed to create and assist both metabolic and digestive enzymes. They enable the body to break down any foods you consumes and help digestive and metabolic enzymes get the nutrients to where they are supposed to be.
